What drew you to financial planning?
I have always had a numbers brain and enjoyed problem solving. When I discovered I could lean into my natural aptitudes and make a meaningful difference in client lives, I was hooked! I love being able to make the complicated, simple and that financial planning gives me the opportunity to educate my clients so they can confidently take steps forward to build the the life they want to lead.  

What does “better” mean to you?
For me, “better” means being able to work in a career that is fulfilling while still having time and energy to be a loving and present mom, wife, daughter & friend. 

What’s something people are surprised to learn about you?
I devoted many hours of my childhood in the dance studio, becoming a classically trained ballerina and always thought I would pursue a career in dance. An injury in my late teens altered my plans and was foundational to me pursuing a degree in finance and moving to Seattle. So, perhaps a broken foot was the best thing that ever happened to me?

What’s your favorite travel memory?
While it’s hard to choose a favorite travel memory, I have a memory of a day in Lisbon on our honeymoon that is representative of my favorite travel day. We left our hotel first thing in the morning on foot, with a short list of “desired to-dos” for the day and wandered throughout the city, checking things off the list (food, music, historical sites, etc) and discovering new favorites, returning late into the evening. I love to explore a city on foot, with structure and space for spontaneity. 

What would your 10-year-old self think about what you do now?
I think she would be surprised and excited. The surprise would be rooted in the fact that I am indeed not a professional dancer. But, she would be inspired to know that I am an owner of a thriving, professional financial firm that takes care of the client holistically, instead of just “chasing returns”.
