Lu lives in Seattle with her husband, Alex, and their two joyful kids, Madeline & Oliver. They are often engaged in playdates at local parks, actively searching for new favorite eateries, and traveling to visit family and friends.

What drew you to financial planning

I was drawn to financial planning because it blends analytical problem‑solving with deeply human conversations—zooming out to understand the bigger picture and zooming in to execute with clarity and precision. I love helping people make sense of complexity and feel confident about their future. Partnering with clients through meaningful life decisions is what continually energizes and inspires me in this work

What does "better” mean to you?

“Better” means moving with intention—making choices that align with your values, your goals, and the life you want to build. Professionally, it’s about continuous learning and showing up for clients with clarity, empathy, and thoughtful guidance. Personally, it’s cherishing the small, everyday moments with loved ones and cultivating the ability to live with presence and purpose.

What’s something people are surprised to learn about you

People are often surprised to learn that I’ve lived/worked in Los Angeles, Beijing, Taipei, Seoul, and San Antonio before making Seattle home with my young family. Those experiences deepened my appreciation for the many ways people define a well‑lived life and the values that shape their choices. They help me meet clients where they are, honor their individual paths, and hold space for the futures they envision

What’s your favorite travel memory?

It’s hard for me to choose a single travel memory, because what stays with me most is the tapestry created by all the places I’ve explored and the people I’ve shared those journeys with. Each trip added its own texture and color—moments of discovery, connection, and growth that shaped how I see the world and my place in it. Those experiences remind me that a well‑lived life is woven from many threads, and that outward exploration and inward reflection often move together.

Where would we find you on a sunny Saturday?

On a sunny Saturday, you’ll usually find my family starting the day with brunch—often at Din Tai Fung or a favorite breakfast‑taco spot—because full bellies are essential for a long playdate at the park with friends. Our kids love riding bikes and scooters, collecting oversized sticks to build “bird nests” for themselves, and running around the jungle gym, while we enjoy catching up with the other parents. It’s one of our favorite ways to spend time together as a family and with friends.
