What does “better” mean to you?

To me, Better is focusing on my most important relationships: being a great husband and father, connecting with friends, and helping our clients.  Raising three kids and serving as a Partner of our firm provides plenty of complexity, so part of my better is keeping my financial life as simple, balanced, and drama-free as reasonably possible.  I can’t think of a single client who wished they had a more complex financial situation in exchange for less time with their family - and I regularly keep that in mind.

Who or what keeps you grounded?

Chelsea (my wife) along with Henry, Audrey, and Vivian (my three kids). The time is moving fast - it felt like just yesterday Henry rode his bike to school for the first time and now we're suddenly talking about drivers licenses!  I realize I’m biased, but they are truly great kids - and we don’t want to miss this precious time with them.

Do you prefer the mountains or the water?

Although I love to ski (I slalom raced for 5 years). I will choose the water 10 out of 10 times.  I love to swim and the ocean is my happy place.  On vacation, you’ll find me either on the water or in the water as much as humanly possible.

What is something that not everyone knows about you?

I love to travel and have visited over thirty countries on five continents.  I grew up in a family that was always up for an adventure and I hope I am passing along that mindset to my own kids.
